Female Athlete of the Week: Jill Couto - Women's Cross Country - Jr.
Jill Couto (Newton Junction, N.H.) finished fourth, overall, in a time of 22:09.72, as the Penmen placed sixth at the Northeast-10 Chamionship on Sunday. Couto's efforts landed her on the NE10 First Team, which marks the second consecutive season she has garnered All-Conference recognition, improving her performance by nine spots from a season ago.

Male Athlete of the Week: Kurt Gutting - Men's Ice Hockey - Jr., G
Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) turned aside 69 of the 73 shots that came his way in two contests during a 1-1-1 week for the Penmen. Gutting, who went 1-0-1, piled up 40 saves in a 2-2 tie against Saint Michael's in the season opener Tuesday and then stopped 29 shots in a 4-2 win at Bryn Athyn on Saturday.

Notes:
- Women's soccer, ranked 23rd in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll, went 1-1-0 last week, seeing its unbeaten streak end at 12 matches, as it fell in the semifinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship.
- Junior Shae Roys (No. Billerica, Mass.) sent the Penmen to the quarterfinals with a goal early in the 106th minute to give SNHU a 2-1 double-overtime victory against Southern Connecticut on Tuesday.
- Freshman Sydney Carney (Northborough, Mass.) scored the first goal of the game in the win over the Owls.
- Freshman Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) stopped three of the six shots she faced during the week, as she made a pair of stops in the win over Southern Connecticut and then recorded one save in a 2-0 loss to Assumption on Friday.

- Men's soccer went 1-1-0 last week, as it won its first Northeast-10 Championship match since 2015.
- Sophomore Tom Marriott (Nottingham, England) registered a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-0 NE10 quarterfinal victory against Franklin Pierce. He used a 21st-minute goal to make it 2-0 before handing out a helper on a 67th-minute insurance tally.
- Graduate student Jonathan Cruickshank (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago) and senior Olafur Einarsson (Esafjordur, Iceland) also found the back of the net in the victory.
- Senior goalkeeper Daniel Milton (Ajax, Ontario) stopped seven of the eight shots he saw, as he turned aside all five shots in the shutout of Franklin Pierce before making two saves in a 1-0 loss at Adelphi on Friday.

Notes:
- Volleyball went 2-1 last week to wrap up the season, as it captured the No. 5 seed for the upcoming Northeast-10 Championship
- Senior Jessica Dillon (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) tallied 10 kills (0.83 k/s), 108 assists (9.00 a/s) and 23 digs (1.92 d/s) during the week. Dillon dished 29 assists in a 3-0 sweep of Merrimack on Tuesday, handed out a then-season-high 36 assists and collected nine dig in a 3-1 victory at Saint Rose on Friday, and then matched her career high with 43 helpers, while adding five kills and 13 digs, in a five-set loss at Le Moyne on Saturday.
- Junior Irem Bat (Istanbul, Turkey) posted 36 kills (3.00 k/s), four service aces (0.33 sa/s), 44 digs (3.67 d/s) and seven blocks (0.58 b/s). Bat notched a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs against Merrimack, while hitting .286 and adding a pair of service aces and two blocks. Bat then recorded nine kills, an ace, 14 digs and four blocks at Saint Rose, before piling up 17 kills and 20 digs, while swinging at a .295 clip., at Le Moyne.
- Junior Amanda Costales (Wantagh, N.Y.) recorded 31 kills (2.58 k/s), four service aces (0.33 sa/s), 29 digs (2.42 d/s) and six blocks (0.50 b/s). Costales posted nine kills on .316 hitting in the Merrimack win, tallied 10 kills, three aces, 10 digs and a trio of blocks at Saint Rose, and then rattled off 12 kills, while swinging at a .250 clip, to go with an ace, a career-best 16 digs and three blocks at Le Moyne.

- Field hockey went 2-0 last week to reduce its magic number to one for clinching its first Northeast-10 Championship berth in program history.
- Redshirt-junior Cassidy Huckins (Loudon, N.H.) registered her team-leading ninth goal of the season in the sixth minute in a 2-0 win against Saint Michael's on Wednesday, while senior Lindsey Poirier (South Berwick, Maine) scored off a penalty corner with time expired to seal the win.
- Sophomore Hélène Servais (Brussels, Belgium) assisted on both goals.
- Junior Laura van der Doorn (Beverwijk, The Netherlands), who kept the clean sheet against the Purple Knights in tact with a defensive save with 90 seconds remaining, also scored the game's lone goal in the 15th minute Saturday in a 1-0 win at Franklin Pierce.
- Senior Melanie Rennie (Madison, Conn.) stopped all eight shots she faced during the week for the pair of shutouts, including seven in the win over Franklin Pierce.

- Men's ice hockey went 1-1-1 in its opening week of the season.
- Sophomore Kyle Galloway (Sugar Hill, Ga.) registered three points on a pair of goals and an assist. Galloway assisted on a goal that made it 2-0 in an eventual 2-2 tie with Saint Michael's on Tuesday before scoring one goal in each game against Bryn Athyn over the weekend. His tally Friday staked SNHU to a 2-0 advantage in a 3-2 overtime loss, while adding the game winner in Saturday's 4-2 triumph.
- Freshman Jake Cox (Columbus, Ga.) also put together a three-point week with a trio of assists. Cox assisted on the first two Penmen goals in Friday's contest against Bryn Athyn and then set up Galloway's winner Saturday.
- Senior Joseph Berardi (Burlington, Mass.) scored the first goal of the season for the Penmen against Saint Michael's and then added an insurancy tally in Saturday's win.
- Junior goalie Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) turned aside 69 of the 73 shots that came his way in two contests. He piled up 40 saves in the Saint Michael's tie and then stopped 29 shots in the Bryn Athyn win. Freshman JT Kossakowski (Elburn, Ill.) stopped 35 of 38 shots in the overtime loss to Bryn Athyn in his first collegeiate appearance.

- The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Northeast-10 Championship on Sunday at the Hopkinton (N.H.) Fair Grounds.
- The women were paced by junior Jill Couto (Newton Junction, N.H.), who finished fourth, overall, in a time of 22:09.72, as the Penmen placed sixth. Couto's efforts landed her on the NE10 First Team, which marks the second consecutive season she has garnered All-Conference recognition, improving her performance by nine spots from a season ago.
- The men slotted in fourth behind a ninth-place finish from sophomore Cedric Jocelyn (Nyack, N.Y.), who crossed the finish line in a time of 25:15.80 to earn NE10 Second Team accoldaes.
