Paradis, Men’s Golf Advance Up Leaderboard at Las Vegas Desert Classic

Senior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) carded a 2-under 70 Monday at the second round of the Las Vegas Desert Classic, as both he and the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team moved up their respective leaderboards at the Royal Golf Links.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

  • Paradis shaved four strokes off his opening-round score to move into a 12th-place tie with an even-par 144 and help the Penmen move up one spot into 14th.
  • Junior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) was two shots better than his Sunday round with a 77 that has him with a two-round total of 156.
  • Senior Etienne Bourgoin (Abington, Mass.) and junior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) each shot an 80 Monday. Bourgoin is at 164 through two rounds, while Olivar is one shot behind at 165.

NOTES

  • Junior Drew Kane (Scarborough, Maine), who did not factor into the scoring, bettered his opening-round mark by one shot with an 84 for a total of 169.
  • West Florida University leads after 36 holes with a 10-under 566, which is three strokes ahead of host University of Missouri-St. Louis.
  • St. Mary's (TX) University's Jake Stevenson sits atop the individual leaderboard with a 6-under 138 – one shot ahead of West Florida's Harry Butler.
  • The Last Vegas Desert Classic is comprised of 83 student-athletes from 15 institutions, with four ranked inside the Golf Coaches Association of America Division II Top 25, including two in the top 10.
