MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Year on Monday, while junior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) earned a spot on the All-Conference Third Team, as the league office announced its end-of-the-season awards.
Paradis, who was selected as a Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PING East All-Region Team honoree last month, also garnered an All-Conference First Team accolade for the third time in his career. Across 25 rounds of golf this season, Paradis shot even-par and averaged a team-best 71.7 per round. He won five individual medalist honors, including at both the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional and Northeast-10 Championship. He set an NE10 record with an 8-under at the Championship, as he became the first golfer to win back-to-back conference titles since 2012-13 and just the fifth golfer in the history of the event to shoot a single-round 66. Paradis finished in the top 10 nine times in the 11 events he played in, including seven top-five showings. Paradis won both the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational (Sept. 10) and the Penmen Fall Invitational (Sept. 18), before making it three straight when he captured the NE10 Championship (Oct. 1) with a two-round total of 136. He ended the regular season with a victory at the Penmen Spring Invitational (April 19) and then fired a 5-under 211 to capture the regional crown, before carding a 219 at the NCAA National Championships (May 22). Paradis was a four-time NE10 Golfer of the Week (Sept. 12, Sept. 19, Oct. 24, April 3) during the season.
Anderson ranked third on the team with an average round of 75.5 across the nine events and 20 rounds he played in. Anderson twice finished in the top 10, including a top-five showing that came at the Northeast-10 Championship. Anderson's top round also came at the NE10 Championship, where he fired an opening-round 72, before adding a 73 that tied him for fifth with a 1-over 145.
