MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Chaney Nash-Gibney (So. Burlington, Vt.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team was chosen as a Google Cloud Academic All-America Third Team selection, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), on Wednesday.
Nash-Gibney, a finance and economics major with a 3.96 grade-point average, was one of 11 members of the Google Cloud Academic All-District 1 First Team last month to advance to the All-America ballot. Nash-Gibney started all 19 matches on a back line that led the Northeast-10 in goals-against average (0.77) and goals allowed (15). Gibney helped the Penmen finish 13-4-2 and advance to the semifinal round of the NE10 Championship for the first time since 2015.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
