Men's Cross Country Competes at UMass Dartmouth Invitational
North Dartmouth, Mass. - The Southern New
Hampshire University men's cross country team participated in the
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country
Invitational in North Dartmouth, Mass. on Saturday. The Penmen
placed 35th in the 37 team event.
Senior Sam Tarrant (Cleverdale, N.Y.) set the pace for the Penmen, finishing 188th overall with a time of 29:17 for the five-mile run. Sophomore Jason Bays (Cresco, Pa.) finished with a time of 30:13, while his classmate Kevin Coyle (Salem, N.H.) finished three seconds behind Bays with a time of 30:16. Junior Mike Smith (Lynnfield, Mass.) posted a time of 30:59.
Rounding out the field were sophomore Matt Gray (Haverhill, Mass.) and junior Brian White (Windham, N.H.), who posted times of 32:10 and 35:03, respectively.
The Penmen will travel to Franklin Park in Boston on September 26th to partake in the Codfish Bowl. The race starts at 11:30 AM.
