Softball Volunteers at Tons of Turkeys to Provide Dinners for More Than 1K

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University softball team volunteered its time Saturday at Hannaford Supermarkets in Hooksett, Manchester and Bedford to help with the Tons of Turkeys event.

Tons of Turkeys, an initiative in its 15th year sponsored by 96.5 The Mill, benefits New Horizons Food Pantry, which donated 23 tons of turkeys that will provide more than 1,000 turkey dinners to local families.

The team helped with set up and moving turkeys to the delivery trucks, in addition to spreading the word around the stores so people could donate.
