Women’s Golf Wraps Up Dartmouth Invitational in 14th

Score: Southern New Hampshire University – 678 (14th/15)

Freshman Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) and sophomore Makyla Lewellen (Zainesville, Ohio) each carded a 79 at the final round of the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team finished 14th at Hanover Country Club.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

  • One day after matching scores, May and Lewellen did it again, but shaved nine strokes off their round to total a 167 that tied them for 66th.
  • Senior Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.), who led the Penmen in the first round with an 85, shot an 84 Sunday to post a 169 for the 36 holes.
  • Junior Brooke Barrett (Bedford, N.H.) penciled in an 89 for a two-day total of 176.

NOTES

  • Freshman Anna Casagrande (Pelham, Mass.), playing as an individual, shot a 97 and finished her first collegiate tournament with a 184.
  • Senior Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) was forced to withdraw near the end of the final round.
  • The Penmen were one of just two non-Division I teams in the field.
  • The University at Albany captured the tournament with a 4-over 580, which was six strokes ahead of Harvard University.
  • Yale University's Ami Gianchandani won individual medalist honors with a 7-under 137, as she scorched the course with a 6-under 66 in the final round to edge out Albany's Madison Walker by two shots.
  • The Dartmouth Invitational was comprised of 86 student-athletes from 15 institutions.
