Freshman Hannah May (Phoenix, Ariz.) shot an 80 to tie for fifth in Sunday's first round, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team placed third at the Northeast-10 Championship after 18 holes at Capital Hills Golf Course.

INDIVIDUAL SCORERS

  • May is seven shots off the pace.
  • Junior Brooke Barrett (Bedford, N.H.) is right behind in seventh with an 81.
  • Sophomore Makyla Lewellen (Zainesville, Ohio) carded an 83 to tie for 13th.
  • Senior Morgan Mitchell (Charlton, Mass.) shot an 84 to tie for 15th.

NOTES

  • Senior Kailey Coleman (No. Berwick, Maine), who did not factor into the scoring, is tied for 18th, following an 85.
  • Merrimack College is in first place with a 317, which is three shots better than Franklin Pierce University.
  • Merrimack's Krystal Knight is three strokes ahead of the field with a 2-over 73.
  • The Northeast-10 Championship is comprised of 42 student-athletes from nine institutions.
