THE MATCHUP: Southern New Hampshire entertains Southern Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.
THE COACHES: Kate Mullen is in her third season at SNHU...Mullen guided the Penmen to their sixth straight Northeast-10 tournament appearance last season and has a record at SNHU of 18-19...prior to arriving at SNHU she guided Endicott to three straight NCAA tournament berths...she owns a career record of 63-34...Kelley Frassinelli is in her 11th season as women's lacrosse coach at Southern Connecticut...a Concord, N.H. native, Frassinelli was a standout for the Owls in field hockey and track and also coached the SCSU field hockey team.
THE SERIES:Southern New Hampshire owns a 7-1 lead in the all-time series with Southern Connecticut and has captured the last seven meetings, including a 23-4 win last season in New Haven, Conn....the Penmen led 14-2 at halftime...Jade Antonangeli led SNHU with six goals and an assist, while Ellie Morin totaled three goals and two assists...Phoebe Clark also added three goals and an assist...Jessica Shaw led the Owls with three of their four tallies.
THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire has dropped three games to nationally-ranked foes this season, including a 23-12 setback to No. 2 Adelphi on Thursday afternoon...the Penmen are led thus far by Emily Mongeau, who has totaled six goals and two assists...Phoebe Clark has notched four goals and a pair of assists, while Justine Clark and Ellie Morin have each scored three times thus far...Jade Antonangeli has recorded two goals and an assist...freshman Kellie Renk has started all three games in goal and has registered 24 saves, including 12 on Thursday.
THE OWLS: Southern Connecticut picked up its first win of the season Wednesday, topping Post 22-11 in a non-league contest...Elaina Heiple leads the Owls with eight goals and a pair of assists, while Jessica Shaw has notched eight goals and an assist...Emily Orser has recorded six goals and a pair of helpers, while Erica Sedler has tallied five goals on the season...Lynette Martinez has played all 180 minutes in goal and owns a .500 save percentage with 43 saves.
