Women's Soccer Blanked at Saint Rose
ALBANY, N.Y. - Eighteenth-ranked The College of Saint Rose
scored four times in the first half en route to a 5-0 win over
Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 women's soccer at
Albany Academy Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights are now
4-1 and 2-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Penmen suffered their
first loss of the season and are now 1-1-1 and 1-1 in the league.
Gianna D'Errico got the hosts on the board just 1:20 into the match. Jazmine Farrell would score twice in a span of 4:27 midway through the first half to give Saint Rose a 3-0 lead, then a Jordan Bowers tally 2:12 before intermission gave the Golden Knights a 4-0 lead at the break. Kristen Bidosky added the final goal for Saint Rose with just over seven minutes to play.
Shannon Murphy and Jillian Lyons combined to make six saves for Saint Rose en route to the shutout. Stef Young (Natick, MA) made five saves for Southern New Hampshire, which was outshot 16-8.
SNHU plays its home opener Wednesday night, when it hosts NE-10 newcomer New Haven in a 7:00 contest at Larkin Field.
