Chandronnait, Mukdaprakorn Continue to Reap NE-10 Women's Tennis Honors
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. –Junior Amber Chandronnait (Bow, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week, while freshman Alena Mukdaprakorn (Hartford, Conn.) was named the league's Freshman of the Week, it was announced Tuesday afternoon. It marks the third straight time, and fourth time this season, Chandronnait has been honored as Player of the Week, while Mukdaprakorn was named Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season as well.
Both Chandronnait and Mukdaprakorn were unbeaten last week as the Penmen went 4-0 to extend their win streak to 12 matches. The pair combined to post a 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles, while Chandronnait was 4-0 at No. 1 singles and Mukdaprakorn was 3-0 at No. 2 singles. Both were victorious against New Haven Sunday as the Penmen won their school-record 13th match and improved to 13-1.
Currently 14-1 and 11-0 in the Northeast-10, Southern New Hampshire needs just one win in its final two matches to wrap up a share of the NE-10 regular season title, which would be the first in program history. The Penmen return to action Friday against Merrimack in a match to be played at the University of New Hampshire.
