  • Student-Athletes Honored at 52nd Annual SNHU Athletic Awards Ceremony

    BEDFORD, N.H. – Senior Devin Gilligan (Amherst, N.H.) and graduate student Abla Chadli (Rabat, Morocco) took home male and female Athlete of the Year honors, respectively, to highlight nine major awards that were given out Monday night as the Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics & Recreation celebrated the 2016-17 season and recognized its seniors at the 52nd Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Manchester Country Club.
  • Four Feted as Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Melanie Rennie (Madison, Conn.), junior Tyler McLaren (Pepperell, Mass.), senior Alexa Poulin (Tewksbury, Mass.) and junior Kathleen Schurman (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), all of Southern New Hampshire University, earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference accolades Wednesday.
  • Penmen Author Department-Record 3.34 Fall GPA

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University athletic department announced Friday that its 372 student-athletes posted a department-wide grade-point average of 3.34 in the fall semester, setting a new school mark and extending a streak of consecutive semesters of a department GPA of 3.0 or better to nine.

  • Top Boston College Assistant, Dega da Gama, Selected as Head Volleyball Coach

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics announced Thursday that Edgard “Dega” da Gama has been hired as the 12th women’s volleyball head coach in program history. da Gama, who goes by “Dega,” will begin his duties with the Penmen on Jan. 30.
  • SNHU Announces New State-of-the-Art Athletic Facility Set to Open Fall 2017

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University broke ground over the summer on a brand new $25-million multi-sport stadium for the Department of Athletics that will be home to men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis, and women’s track & field. The facility, which will also host select field hockey home games, is expected to open in the Fall of 2017.

    Senior Victoria Wehrmann (Dallas, Texas) recorded a team-high seven kills as the Southern New Hampshire University women’s volleyball team was defeated, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-18), by Pace University on Friday evening at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

    Junior Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) posted 22 kills, 36 digs, nine blocks, nine assists and four service aces Sunday afternoon as the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team pulled out a pair of five-set victories in a tri-match at Southern Connecticut State University’s Pelz Gymnasium. SNHU rallied to knock off the host Owls, 3-2 (16-25, 20-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-13), and then held off Wilmington (Del.) University by the same score (25-18, 27-25, 22-25, 17-25, 15-9).

    Senior Victoria Wehrmann (Dallas, Texas) racked up 19 kills in a five-set loss in the opening match Saturday afternoon as the Southern New Hampshire University women’s volleyball team suffered a pair of defeats at the College of Saint Rose’s Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium. The Penmen dropped a 3-2 (27-25, 12-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10) Northeast-10 decision to Saint Rose and then was swept by Long Island University-LIU Post in non-conference action, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-10).
