Senior Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) racked up a match-high 16 kills and junior Jessica Dillon (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) nearly turned in a triple-double, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team recorded its second three-set win in the past three matches Saturday afternoon, defeating Saint Michael's College, 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

After a service ace from sophomore Joanne Coffey (Merrimack, N.H.) opened the match on the right foot for Southern New Hampshire, the Penmen kept rolling with a 9-3 run – featuring four kills from Coronis and three from Dillon – to get things started. Kills from junior Priscila Castro (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and Dillon later in the set buoyed a 4-0 spurt that widened the gap to 15-6 before Saint Michael's claimed four of the next six points. Two straight kills from Coronis then sparked another 4-0 run that put SNHU in the driver's seat at 21-10. The Purple Knights would take four of the next five points before kills from sophomore Jaclyn Maguire (Rochester, N.Y.) and Coronis helped the Penmen close the set on a 3-1 run that made it 1-0.

Four kills and a service ace from Coronis, as well as two kills from Castro, opened a 10-4 run for Southern New Hampshire to begin the second set. Saint Michael's would keep it close and closed to within 20-16 before two Dillon kills and one from Castro contributed to a set-ending 5-1 run that put the Penmen up, 2-0, in the match.

Saint Michael's held a 4-3 edge in set No. 3 when a kill and service ace from Dillon sparked an 8-1 blitz that gave Southern New Hampshire an 11-5 lead. A 6-2 counter-run from the Purple Knights pulled them within a pair at 13-11, but nine straight points, including a pair of kills from sophomore Amanda Costales (Wantagh, N.Y.), ballooned the Penmen lead to 22-11. Saint Michael's tallied two straight before three kills from Dillon ended the match on a 3-1 run for SNHU.
