Baseball Picked 10th in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - The Southern New Hampshire University baseball team was picked to finish 10th out of 14 schools in the Northeast-10 preseason coaches' poll released Tuesday.  Defending NE-10 Tournament champion Franklin Pierce University was the coaches' pick to capture the regular season crown in 2010.

Southern New Hampshire returns 17 players from a 2009 squad that was one of the most improved in the Northeast-10 last season under first-year head coach Scott Loiseau.  The Penmen finished with a 14-26-1 record, doubling their win total from the previous season, and defeated regional power Franklin Pierce for the first time since 2003, sweeping both games from the Ravens.

The Penmen open the 2010 season on Saturday, February 27 when they face Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a doubleheader in Flemington, N.J.  SNHU is scheduled to open league play Tuesday, March 16 at Stonehill College.
