Notes: After closing last season at 18th in the NCBWA Division II Poll, the Penmen are ranked 20th in the pre-season version of poll and were picked second in both the Northeast-10 and NCBWA pre-season polls ... SNHU will be primed to make its fifth straight NCAA East Regional appearance ... the Penmen return two all-region players in junior OF Carson Helms (Farmington, Conn.) and junior P Alex Person (Foxboro, Mass.), while they are joined by four other returning all-conference selections in junior SS Manny Cruz (Wolcott, Conn.), junior IF Zach Goldstein (Merrick, N.Y.) and sophomore pitchers Justin Valdespina (Garfield, N.J.) and Jake Walkinshaw (Seymour, Conn.) ... Southern New Hampshire kicks off the 2016 season with a five-game trip to South Carolina from Feb. 26-28. SNHU starts out against Dominican (N.Y.) College with a 10 a.m. doubleheader on day one ... the first home game for the Penmen is slated for April 5 (3:30 p.m.) against Saint Michael's College.
