Men’s Golf in 17th After Day One of NCAA National Championships

Score: Southern New Hampshire – 303 (17th/20)

Senior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) and junior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) both shot a 75, as  the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team opened up play at the NCAA National Championships by finishing 17th through 18 holes at The Resort at Glade Springs on Monday.

INDIVIDUALS

  • Paradis and Anderson are tied for 52nd.
  • Freshman Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) is right behind with a 76 that has him tied for 62nd.
  • Junior Drew Kane (Scarborough, Maine) carded a 77 and is tied for 76th.

NOTES

  • Junior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.), who did not factor into the team score, shot an 80.
  • California State University, Monterey Bay is in first place with a 287, which is just one stroke in front of Arkansas Tech University and Lincoln Memorial University.
  • Arkansas Tech's Shawn Tsai is atop the individual leaderboard with a 5-under 67, which is two strokes better than Lincoln Memorial's Sam Broadhurst.
  • Conti's 14 pars in the opening round were the second most of any golfer in the field.
  • The Penmen are making their second appearance at the NCAA National Championships and first since 2016.
  • The NCAA National Championships are comprised of 108 student-athletes from 28 institutions.
