THE PENMEN: The Penmen remain undefeated at home after yesterday's 3-2, 1-0 sweep against Stonehill...Cristy Jenkins hit a walk-off solo home run in game one, while Dolores Mattice pitched a two-hitter in game two, and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning...senior Amanda Barton is batting a team-high .361 on the season with 26 hits...junior Kelsea Cheney is batting a  team second-best .354 while leading the team in home runs with six...freshman Ali Maloof is batting .341 with a team-leading 30 hits...Cara Daly is batting .321 with 26 hits and 13 RBI...Tesia Stanasek is batting .293 while leading the team in runs with 15...Kate Stanley leads the team in runs batted in with 18...Mattice has pitched 61.1 innings and has a 2.85 ERA with 66 strikeouts...Maloof has pitched a team-high 86.1 innings and ranked third in the NE-10 in strikeouts with 86...freshman Rebecca Sherwood is 4-0 in the circle with 31 innings pitched and a 2.94 ERA...as a team, the Penmen are batting .290 on the season while opponents bat .271 against the SNHU pitching staff.

THE OWLS: Southern Connecticut State bumped up from 22 to 18 in this week's national ranking...the Owls are on an eight game winning streak while coming off of a sweep at American International College Tuesday...they are led offensively by Brittany Bucko who is batting .461 with a team-high 41 hits and 39 runs...she also ranks second on the team in home runs with eight...Kristin Whitley is batting .459 with a team-best 14 doubles while batting in 29 runs...home run hitting Alyssa Downs, leads the Owls with 10 and a team-high 41 RBIs...the Owls pitching staff is led by Jayme Larson who has posted a 1.45 ERA thus far while holding an 11-1 record in the circle...she has given up 67 hits and accumulated 59 strikeouts in 82 innings...Kelsey Cockrill averages just 2.04 earned runs per game while posting a 10-1 record overall...she has a team-high strikeouts with 68...as a team, the Owls are batting .322 while opponents are batting .255.

HEAD TO HEAD: SNHU is 14-41 all-time against the Owls...the Penmen split with So. Connecticut last year winning 8-4 and losing 4-0...Morgan Farmer connected for a grand slam in the eighth inning to lead the Penmen to the win in game one.
