Women's Basketball Set For 10-Day European Tour


MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team embarks Tuesday on a 10-day trip to Spain and Italy, where it will play three games against international competition and see multiple sites in the two countries.

The team will explore Barcelona on June 8 and again June 9 before playing its first game later in the night at 8 p.m. against Sant Adria Second League LF2. The team will see more of Barcelona on June 10, including the Olympic Park from the 1992 Summer Olympic Games, before taking on Joventut Les Corts in the second game of the trip at 8 p.m.

The Penmen will spend a final day in Barcelona on June 11 and travel to Rome on June 12. The site-seeing in Rome will continue June 13 and 14 with trips that include the Colosseum, Pantheon, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica. The team will continue to explore Rome on June 15 before taking part in a youth clinic at 5:30 p.m. and playing its final game at 8 p.m. against Lazio region All-Stars.

The Penmen will spend a final day in Rome on June 16 before wrapping up the trip with a flight back to the States on June 17.
