  • Saint Michael's jumped on Southern New Hampshire early, taking advantage of four turnovers to grab a 10-0 lead over the opening 1:36 of the contest. The Purple Knights then held a 20-6 advantage with a little more than three minutes remaining in the first quarter when five different Penmen combined for a 12-2 rush that trimmed the deficit to 22-18 at the end of the stanza.
  • SNHU kept it rolling to open the second quarter by ripping off 14 straight – with six from junior Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and four from Lorenzen – to open up a 32-22 advantage with 2:39 to go before the break. Saint Michael's would score its first points of the quarter 20 seconds later and the Penmen would eventually bring a 36-28 lead to the locker room.
  • The Penmen began the second half with nine of the first 12 points – with five from Russell and four from Lorenzen – to grow their lead to 45-31 just past the midway point of the third quarter. The Purple Knights answered with a 10-2 counter-run – bookended by a pair of free throws from Purcell – to creep within 47-40 at the 1:54 mark. After a 3-pointer from junior Karlee Ziliak (Evansville, Ind.) nudged the SNHU lead back to double digits at 10, back-to-back layups from Purcell capped the third-quarter scoring and trimmed the deficit to 52-46 for Saint Michael's going to the final frame.
  • Saint Michael's came out swinging, with back-to-back treys from Ferreri and Nicole Anderson knotting the game at 52-all just 1:46 into the fourth quarter. Following a triple from Camara, a 9-2 run put the Purple Knights in front, 61-57, with 5:22 remaining. Consecutive buckets from Russell and Camara tied the game at 61-61 at the 3:51 mark, but five-in-a-row two minutes later staked the hosts to a 68-63 advantage with under two minutes on the clock.
  • A pair at the line from Lorenzen, followed by a Camara 3-pointer, pulled the Penmen even at 68-68 with exactly a minute left. Anderson then connected on another 3 for Saint Michael's, which went back in front, 71-68, with 34 ticks to play. A miss on the other end forced the Penmen to foul, with Anderson going 5-for-6 from the stripe the rest of the way to seal it.

  • Saint Michael's narrowly outshot Southern New Hampshire, 41.5 percent (27-65) to 40.9 percent (27-66), including 33.3 percent (9-27) to 25.9 percent (7-27) from downtown.
  • SNHU did not miss at the line, going 7-for-7, but Saint Michael's was plus-6 at the stripe, hitting on 13 of 14 (92.9%).
  • The Penmen held slight edges on the glass (38-36) and in the paint (36-30), while compiling more second chance points (15-9). The Purple Knights held a big advantage in points off mistakes (25-13) and turned in a better assist-to-turnover ratio (17/13-17/16).
  • Southern New Hampshire put together a 26-2 run over 11:03 that spanned the first and second quarters. The SNHU defense held Saint Michael's without a point for the final 8:33 of that stretch.
