HOW IT HAPPENED

A three-point play from Russell in the final seconds of the frame trimmed the Southern New Hampshire deficit to 20-13.
  • After a pair of free throws nudged the Greyhound lead to nine to begin the second quarter, a 15-3 blitz – with Lorenzen's four points leading six different scorers – put the Penmen in front, 28-25, with less than two minutes to play before the break. Four straight from O'Donnell flipped Assumption into the lead with a minute left, but a bucket from freshman Danielle Sirois (Pelham, N.H.) sent SNHU to the locker room with a 30-29 edge.
  • The Penmen used a 5-0 run – with four from senior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) – to grab their largest lead of the game at 42-35 with 5:21 remaining the third, but an 11-3 counter-run from Assumption – with four from Jordan Hawkins – leapfrogged the Greyhounds in front, 46-45, with 44 seconds to go. A Lorenzen layup sent SNHU to the fourth quarter with a 47-46 lead.
  • The final frame began with six lead changes and two ties, with the score even at 54-all when an O'Donnell layup with 3:51 to go gave Assumption the lead for good. It was a 60-58 game with under two minutes remaining when a Brianna Capacchione 3-pointer sparked a 7-0 run – in which she contributed five – to make it 67-58 with less than 30 seconds to go and seal the win.
