Notes: Southern New Hampshire enters its second straight Northeast-10 Championship after falling at home to Assumption, 69-60, Tuesday in the regular-season finale ... the back-and-forth affair was tied, 54-54, when Assumption took the lead for good with 3:51 left ... the Penmen were still within striking distance at 60-58 with less than two minutes remaining, but a 7-0 run from Assumption made it 67-58 with under 30 seconds on the clock to seal it ... the defeat, which snapped a seven-game home winning streak, dropped SNHU from the No. 4 seed in the Northeast Division to the No. 5 seed and sent them on the road for the first round ... senior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.), who became the program's all-time leading rebounder in the loss, notched a double-double of 17 points (8-16 FG, 1-2 FT) and 11 rebounds ... sophomore Gyanna Russell (E. Hampton, Conn.) was also in double figures with 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-5 FT) and a career-high seven rebounds ... Southern New Hampshire is 3-7 (.300) all-time in the NE10 postseason and meets AIC for the first time ... SNHU is 2-2 in NE10 Championship games against current Southwest Division foes ... last season's first-round victory against Saint Rose catapulted the Penmen into the quarterfinals for the first time since 2012 and was their first win in the conference tournament since 2011 ... in the only regular-season meeting between the Penmen and Yellow Jackets this season, SNHU came away with a 73-57 victory on the road Jan. 26 ...Lorenzen led the way with 18 points and eight boards, while Russell and senior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) added 13 and 11, respectively ... the winner of the contest advances to the quarterfinals and will take on the Northeast's top seed, Bentley, on Sunday, March 3 (3 p.m.) in Waltham, Mass.

Notes: Following a five-game winning streak, American Int'l wrapped up the regular season with its second straight loss, as it was edged at home, 59-56, by Adelphi on Tuesday ... Adelphi built an early lead before AIC stormed back to go in front, 42-41, at the end of three quarters of play ... after seven lead changes and two ties over the opening six minutes of the final frame, it was Adelphi that held a 55-54 edge with 2:03 to go ... AIC later pulled within 58-56 with 55 seconds left, but, after Adelphi hit a free throw to make it a three-point game, the Yellow Jackets missed a trio of potential game-tying 3-pointers in the final 11 seconds ... senior Alyssa Guyon recorded 22 points (10-15 FG, 2-5 3-FG) and eight rebounds to lead all scorers ... classmate Dana Watts posted a double-double of 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-4 FT) and 13 rebounds, while fellow senior Dominique Boyd added 12 points (6-13 FG) ... AIC is is 26-33 (.441) all-time in the Northeast-10 Championship ... last season, the Yellow Jackets missed out on the NE10 postseason for the first time since 1991 and just the third time since 1982 ... prior to last season, American Int'l had been in the quarterfinal round of play in four straight years.
