Women’s Golf Sits Second at FPU Invitational

When and Where: October 18, 2015 – Keene, N.H. (Bretwood Golf Course – Par 72)
Score: Southern New Hampshire University (360), 2nd/3

The Southern New Hampshire University women's golf team sits in second place after the opening round of the Franklin Pierce University Invitational at the Bretwood Golf Course on Sunday. The Penmen finished at 360, which trails Franklin Pierce University (322) and is ahead of Assumption College (408).

Freshman Kaitlyn Lutinski (Derry, N.H.) fired an opening-round 81, which is the lowest score in program history, and currently sits in a tie for fourth overall. She trails only Post University's Amber Thompson-Newth (76), and Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison (78) and Anna Haynes (79).

Juniors Aimee Cawlina (Peabody, Mass.) and Kerry Twomey (Londonderry, N.H.) also turned in top-10 outings on Sunday. Cawlina is seventh after carding an 88, while Twomey finished one shot behind her and is eighth heading into Monday. Freshman Kailey Coleman (North Berwick, Maine) rounded out the Southern New Hampshire lineup with a 102. 

Notes:
 - The Franklin Pierce Invitational is comprised of 20 student-athletes from six institutions.
 - Lutinski's 81 is her lowest round of the season, topping her previous best by one shot.
 - Twomey also carded her best round of the season on Sunday as she shot six strokes better than her previous best.

The final round of the Franklin Pierce Invitational tees off on Monday at the Bretwood Golf Course.
