    The Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team posted a 12-6 mark in 2016 and qualified for the Northeast-10 Championship for the first time since the 2011 campaign.
  • Penmen Officially Claim Second Queen City Cup

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University athletic department was awarded its second straight “Queen City Cup” by Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas at City Hall on Tuesday evening after the Penmen defeated Saint Anselm College in the year-long competition encompassing 16 sports contested between the two schools. SNHU earned a 26-10 victory this season after posting a 22-12 win in 2014-15.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics and Recreation has released its annual Year in Review, highlighting the successes enjoyed by its 19 varsity teams in the 2015-16 academic year. The 38-page report highlights the Penmen’s success in competition, the classroom and the community.

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Ryan Gendron (Nashua, N.H.), seniors Mo Hannan (Scarborough, Maine) and Alexa Allen (E. Longmeadow, Mass.), juniors Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) and Aimee Cawlina (Peabody, Mass.), and sophomores Jake Walkinshaw (Seymour, Conn.) and Xavier Aubron (Herouville, France) all of Southern New Hampshire University earned Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference accolades Friday.

    MANSFIELD, Mass. – Two hundred thirty-four student-athletes from Southern New Hampshire University, representing all 18 of its programs, were selected to the Northeast-10 Spring 2016 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
  • SNHU’s 41st-Place Finish in Learfield Directors’ Cup is Program’s Best Ever

    CLEVELAND – The Southern New Hampshire athletic department placed 41st in the final release of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings Thursday as it recorded its best finish ever. The Penmen amassed a total of 356.75 points, adding on 64 points from baseball following the previous release of the standings May 26.
  • SNHU Nets Highest Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup Finish Ever; Places Fifth

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Southern New Hampshire University finished fifth in the 2015-16 Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup standings, the league announced Monday at its annual banquet. SNHU records its highest finish ever a year after doing so by placing eighth.

    BEDFORD, N.H. – Senior Rodney Sanders (Elizabeth, N.J.) and freshman Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) took home male and female Athlete of the Year honors, respectively, to highlight nine major awards that were given out Monday night as the Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics & Recreation celebrated the 2015-16 season and recognized its seniors at the 51st Annual Athletic Awards Ceremony, which was held at the Manchester Country Club.

    Freshman Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) became the highest scoring freshman in program history as she and sophomore Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) each registered seven points to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women’s lacrosse team to a 21-15 slugfest victory against American International College on Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field. The win clinches SNHU’s first Northeast-10 Championship berth since the 2011 season as the crucial victory gives the Penmen separation in the standings and control of their own destiny for the No. 5 seed.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University women’s lacrosse team will support the “One Love” program to spread awareness of domestic violence by joining lacrosse teams across the country, who are committed to running one million yards in 30 days with its “Yards for Yeardley” fundraiser. The team will hold its One Love game against American International College on Saturday, April 23 (1 p.m.) at Larkin Field.

    Junior goalkeeper Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) racked up a career-best 22 saves, while classmates Casey Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) and Courtney Nivala (Westminster, Mass.) both reached career highs in goals, to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women’s lacrosse team to a 15-10 victory against 18th-ranked Stonehill College on Tuesday at W.B. Mason Stadium.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics & Recreation will be showcased on an episode of “College Sports Weekly,” which airs on a group of at least 10 networks, headlined by Fox College Sports and NESN, that are shown in more than 100 million households, covering all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. The show, which is hosted by Tony Minnis and produced by Harry Cicma Productions, will be shot on campus April 22-24, with an air date expected some time in June.
