Senior Alexis Felt (Manchester, N.H.) registered a career-high eight points to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team to a 22-11 victory against Dominican (N.Y.) College on Saturday afternoon in its home opener at Larkin Field.

  • Felt scored a career-best six goals and dished a pair of assists.
  • Junior Merry Harrington (Peabody, Mass.) recorded six points on a goal and five assists, which matched a career high.
  • Senior Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) tallied three goals and two assists for five points.
  • Freshmen Kelsey Long (Woburn, Mass.), Catherine Derhak (Londonderry, N.H.) and Erin Gorton (Kennebunk, Maine) each chimed in with three points. Long and Derhak potted a pair of goals and handed out an assist, while Gorton scored once and set up two goals.

  • Southern New Hampshire scored the game's first six goals over the opening 6:24, with Felt having a hand in four of them. Dominican settled things down and posted three of the next four to pull within 7-3 with 12:37 left in the first half, but SNHU found the back of the net four of the next five times – with junior Stephanie Barr (Lowell, Mass.) scoring twice and senior Jackie Richardson (Tyngsborough, Mass.) contributing a goal and an assist – to balloon its lead to 11-4 with less than four-and-a-half minutes remaining. The Chargers would score the final three of the stanza, however, including two from Jenna Fox, to trim their halftime deficit to 11-7.
  • Dominican opened the scoring 1:32 into the second half to make it a three-goal game, but the Penmen responded in a huge way, ripping off 11 straight goals over the next 18 minutes to all but seal the win at 22-8 with 10:27 remaining. Felt scored three times during the stretch, with Derhak and fellow freshman Madison Peredna (Derry, N.H.) both adding two goals. The Chargers added the final three of the game in the waning minutes.

  • Freshman Hayle Ashford (Atkinson, N.H.) earned her first career start and win, stopping two of the five shots she faced over the opening 17:23 of the contest. Senior Leah Olansky (Bennington, Vt.) turned away half of the eight bids that came her way in the next 12:37. Junior Alex Comeau (Haverhill, Mass.) started the second half and played the next 15:56, thwarting two of three Dominican attempts, before freshman Caela McCartney (Arvada, Colo.) made her Penmen debut with two saves over the final 14:04.
  • The Penmen held a 35-27 advantage in shots, including 21-15 in the opening half, while also holding a 22-12 margin in draw controls, with a 12-3 gap in the second stanza.
  • Dominican was 3-for-8 on its free-position opportunities, with SNHU going 2-for-6.

  • Wilder, who is now five goals away from becoming the first 200-goal scorer in program history and 25 points shy of breaking the program's all-time points record, was honored prior to the game for becoming SNHU's all-time goals leader in its previous game.
  • Felt eclipsed the 100-point plateau in the contest and now has 82 career goals.
  • Harrington's goal was the 57th of her career.

  • The Penmen return to action Tuesday, March 12 (5:30 p.m.) when they take on the University of Bridgeport at the Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.
  • The next home contest for SNHU is Friday, March 15 (1 p.m.) when it plays host to Adelphi University.
