MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Kelsey Long (Woburn, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team were both selected to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team on Thursday morning, as the league office announced its end-of-the-year awards.
Wilder, who earns the fourth All-Conference selection of her career, including her third straight Third Team pick, racked up 74 points on 63 goals and 11 assists. Wilder led the team in both goals and points, while ranking third and sixth in the league in those respective categories at the end of the regular season. Her 63 goals ranked third all-time in the program's single-season record book, with her 74 points slotting in sixth. Wilder wrapped her career first all-time in school history with 247 goals and 290 points. She notched a season-high nine points on eight goals and an assist in a 23-16 triumph at Saint Michael's on April 17.
Long, who also received an All-Rookie Team nod in her first season with the Penmen, registered 38 goals and 16 assists for 54 points, placing second on the team in helpers and third in both goals and points. She also led the squad in draw controls (98) and ground balls (40), as well as second in caused turnovers (16). Her 98 draw controls shattered the previous program record by 10. In the league, Long, the March 19 NE10 Rookie of the Week, ranked fourth in draw controls and 10th in ground balls, as well as inside the top 20 in goals and assists, and in the top 25 in points. Her top performance came in a 20-11 win against the University of Bridgeport on March 12 at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports when she collected nine points on six goals and three assists, while winning 10 draw controls.
