NEW ORLEANS – The Southern New Hampshire University men's and women's cross country teams each climbed on spot in the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) East Region polls this week, as the organization released its regional and national polling.
The Penmen men slot in third in the East Region after the New England Championships, which is tied for the highest ranking in program history. Southern New Hampshire previously reached No. 3 in the region during week five of the 2016 season.
On the women's side, SNHU sits ninth in the East through week five. The Penmen opened the season unranked in the regional poll, but climbed to eighth after weeks two and three. After a quick dip to No. 10 in week four, Southern New Hampshire moved up one spot to No. 9.
The Penmen cross country teams are both idle until October 22 when they take part in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.
