A check presentation to Catholic Medical Center for 1,613 dollars. MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University Associate Director of Athletics Tom Wilkins and Head Women's Basketball Coach Karen Pinkos presented a check for Catholic Medical Center's Breast Care Center to CMC's Vice President of Philanthropy Jennifer Higgins Pitre on Thursday for the money raised through Penmen Pink Day initiatives throughout the 2017-18 season.

The donation for $1,613 was raised by various SNHU athletic teams throughout the year by holding pink-themed games to support breast cancer awareness. Women's basketball, which held its 13th annual Pink Day on Jan. 27, once again led the charge by raising nearly $2,000, donating $1,500 of it to CMC's Breast Care Center.

"While it is important for us to be regionally- and nationally-competitive, athletically, it is also crucial for us to be successful, both in the classroom and the local community," Wilkins said. "Our Pink Day initiatives are one way of supporting the community and our continued partnership with Catholic Medical Center and its Breast Care Center is one we are extremely proud of."
