MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University is leading the Northeast-10 Presidents' Cup standings and is inside the top 100 in the Learfield Sports Division II Directors' Cup standings through the fall season, with both sets of rankings being released recently.

SNHU, which has never finished higher than fifth in the NE10 Presidents' Cup standings, is currently in first with 89.5 points, which is seven points ahead of runners-up Merrimack College and Stonehill College. The Penmen collected the highest number of points in men's golf after capturing the league title, while bolstering its resume with a second-place finish in women's soccer, third in men's soccer and fifth in both volleyball and field hockey.

Southern New Hampshire, which has a current streak of seven consecutive seasons within the top 100 in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings, is currently tied for 89th with 63 points. The men's cross country team collected 38 points for its 34th-place showing at the NCAA Division II National Championship, while women's soccer recorded 25 points for its selection to the NCAA Tournament.

The NE10 Presidents' Cup is presented annually at the conclusion of the academic year, signifying overall athletic excellence in the league. The honor is awarded to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points based on finishes in the regular-season standings from all of its programs competing in league championships.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. With the updated scoring system, all scores are counted for men's and women's basketball, baseball and women's volleyball. Additionally, only up to 11 other of the highest scores are included in the final score.
