Ice Hockey Unveils 2021-22 Schedule

24-game schedule for the Penmen in return to The Ice Den

HOOKSETT, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University ice hockey team will return to the ice for the first time in nearly two years when it begins the 2021-22 season. The Penmen, who finished the 2019-20 campaign with a record of 10-15, will be bringing back the top four scorers as it competes for the Northeast-10 Championship.

SNHU will officially open the season against Rivier University at Conway Arena in Nashua, N.H. on Friday, October 29 (7:00 p.m.)  Rivier, a new Division III program, will be playing its home opener against the Penmen.  The teams will also play at The Ice Den on January 28.  The home opener for the Penmen will take place on Saturday, November 6 against Framingham State at 7:40 p.m.

5th year head coach Sean Walsh will guide his squad through an 18-game Northeast-10 schedule against rivals Saint Anselm College, Stonehill College, Franklin Pierce University, Assumption University, Post University, and Saint Michael's College.   The Penmen will also host the Stovepipe Tournament at The Ice Den on November 27 and 28, with Western New England, Albertus Magnus College, and Fitchburg State University.

Fans will be welcomed back to athletic events at all SNHU athletic venues at regular capacity, however, a face covering requirement will be in place. SNHU recently updated its COVID-19 policies and procedures due to the danger of the Delta variant, recent spikes in infection rates in much of the country, and concern for the health and safety of its employees and students. All outside guests, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a face covering to help protect against the spread of the virus. This includes fans at both indoor and outdoor venues.
