MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Lisa Hagel (Driehuis, The Netherlands) of the ninth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, as the league announced its weekly award winners. It marks the second time out of a possible three weeks Hagel has earned the distinction.
Hagel continued the strong start to her collegiate career with three goals in a pair of Penmen victories. She opened the week with what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 2-0 blanking of Saint Michael's College before adding two more goals in a 6-1 win over Pace University. Through six games, Hagel currently leads the Northeast-10 Conference in both goals (8) and points (19).
Southern New Hampshire, winners of five consecutive contests, continues Northeast-10 play Wednesday (September 25) when it hosts Stonehill College on Larkin Field at 6 p.m.
