Penmen One Shot Off Lead After First Round of NE10 Men's Golf Championship

When and Where: October 6, 2019 – Endicott, N.Y. (En-Joie Golf Club – Par 72)
Score:  Southern New Hampshire University – 293 (2nd/10)

Senior Garret Olivar (Manchester, N.H.) carded a 1-under par 71 and SNHU is in second place, one stroke behind Assumption College, after the first round of the NE10 Championship at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y.  

  • Olivar's round of 71 was good for a tie for third place.   
  • Sophomore Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) carded a one over-par 73 in the first round and is tied for ninth place.
  • A round of 74 has freshman Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) in a tie for 13th. 
  • Senior Ryan Anderson (Beverly, Mass.) shot a 75 and freshman Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) finished with a six-over 78.
  • Assumpton College (292) leads SNHU (293) by one stroke with LeMoyne College (294) in third place.
  • Saint Michael's College golfers Matt Johnson and Brendan Locke turned in the best rounds of the day, with a 68 and 70 respectively. 
  • 50 golfers from 10 institutions are competing in the tournament.   SNHU won the 2018 title at En-Joie Golf Club.  
  • The Penmen return to the course for a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Monday morning.
