Neil has been coaching, teaching hockey and power skating for more than 30 years.

Mulcahy joined SNHU for the 2018-19 season and helped lead the team to a 14-9-4 record and the Northeast-10 Conference Championship with a 4-3 win over Saint Anselm College.

A 1987 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh - he captained the 1987 National Championship team and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.  Neil started his coaching career upon graduation as a power skating instructor for Paul Vincent’s Dynamic Skating. This led to coaching opportunities with top elite programs such as the North Shore Raiders and Middlesex Islanders over the years. Neil has both Prep school coaching experience as well as Junior hockey experience. Neil was also an assistant coach with North Adams State College for a year in the mid 90’s.

Neil’s junior hockey assistant coaching experience started under long time NCAA DIII coach Steve Hoar for the Boston Junior Harbor Wolves of the Eastern Junior Hockey League for 4 years. He also worked as an assistant coach for three years under former Umass Amherst Hockey East Coach Joe Mallen at the Middlesex School in the Independent School League. Neil also has experience working for the former Mass Satellite Program with some well known NCAA and Prep School coaches in their summer program.

Neil has taken U16 and U13 teams over to the Challenger Cup Series in Prague, Czech Republic. He spent ten years working for Alex Moody’s Middlesex Black Bears Hockey program as an associate head coach and skating / skills director for multiple teams in the organization.  This past summer he started working for Ken Hodge with Elite Skills Hockey.
Neil is a native of Malden, Mass. and now resides in North Andover, Mass. He is the father of two - Cameron and Chase.
