Men's Soccer Battles To 2-2 Tie At Saint Rose Saturday

Score: Southern New Hampshire University 2, College of Saint Rose 2 (2 OT)
Records: SNHU 3-4-2 (1-3-1 NE10), Saint Rose 6-2-1 (2-1-1 NE10)

Grad student João Brum (Ribeira Grande, Portugal) scored on a free kick with two seconds remaining in regular and SNHU played to a 2-2 draw with Saint Rose on Saturday in Albany, N.Y.

  • Junior Nadjib Chibout (Lyon, France), who scored two goals in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Bentley, gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead with his fourth of the season at 26:18.  He was assisted on the goal by senior Michael Goncalves (Ludlow, Mass.).  
  • Brum hit on the free kick at 89:58 to force overtime.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Patrick Quinn (Manchester, N.H.) made four saves on six shots.
  • SNHU outshot the Golden Knights 23-9 and had a 6-3 edge on corners.
  • The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Rose 19-1-1.
  • With the tie, SNHU is 97-19-13 (.802) over its last 129 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season.
  • SNHU will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 12 with American International College paying a visit to Penmen Stadium at 7 p.m.
