FLUSHING, N.Y. – Freshman Sinisa Sprecakovic (Mannheim, Germany) and junior Jannik Mohr (Koblenz, Germany) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team were both selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) East All-Region Team on Tuesday.
Sprecakovic captured East All-Region First Team accolades after being named the Northeast-10 Co-Rookie of the Year, and earning spots on the on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie Team. Sprecakovic started 13 of the 16 matches he played in and led the team across the board with 22 points on eight goals and six assists. Sprecakovic, the Sept. 23 and Nov. 4 NE10 Rookie of the Week, ranked fourth in the NE10 in points, while tying for fifth in assists and sixth in goals. Amongst the league's freshmen, he sat first in points and second in both goals and assists.
Mohr, an NE10 First Team selection, earned East All-Region Second Team honors. Mohr started all 15 contests he suited up for and helped anchor a back line that ranked fifth in the NE10 in goals-against average (1.32) and goals allowed (22). The captain also contributed offensively, racking up four goals for eight points.
The Penmen (9-4-4) earned the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship following a 7-3-2 mark in league play. SNHU tied the Colleg of Saint Rose, 0-0, in the quarterfinals, but fell in penalty kicks, 6-5.
