Senior Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) went 2-0 Sunday to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team to a 4-3 triumph over Merrimack College at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.

  • van Biezen toppled Alec Mackay Rodriguez, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and also teamed with brother and classmate Willem van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) for a 6-2 No. 1 doubles win against Denis Davydov and Conrad Koch.
  • Sophomore Emmanuel Vacalares (Cagayan de Oro, Philippines) defeated Koch, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.
  • Sophomore Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles against Pedro De Godoy Mancini.
  • Freshman Oscar Hawken (Oslo, Norway) was victorious at No. 5 singles, as he beat Andre Singer, 6-3, 6-1.
  • SNHU is 4-0 for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
  • Southern New Hampshire is now off until the spring.
