SNHU Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth At NE10 Championships

Juniors Cedric Jocelyn (Nyack, N.Y.) and Micah Hewitson (New Market, Md.) finished 10th and 11th to earn second team All-Conference as SNHU finished fifth at Sunday's Northeast-10 Championship in Jamesville, N.Y.  

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Joceyln finished the course in 27:42.8, just ahead of Hewitson 27:43.3.
  • Sophomore Conner Leone (Southington, Conn.) earned third team All-Conference by finishing in 21st place with a 28:08.4.
  • Also scoring for the Penmen were sophomore Alex Boedeker (Attleboro, Mass.) and senior Michael Moreno (Houston, Texas).  Boedeker was 25th in 28:25.1 and Moreno, 29th, with a 28:33.3.
  • Junior Jack Ardrey (Milford, Conn.) in 28:45.3 and sophomore Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) in 29:11.3 also competed on Sunday.
NOTES
  • This marks the fourth time in the past five seasons at least three Penmen received All-Conference accolades at single NE10 Championship.  The first time was at the 2015 race at Saint Michael's College.  Joceyln ran to a ninth place finish in last season's NE10 Championships at Hopkinton State Park.  
  • American International College had the individual winner for the fourth consecutive season.  Freshman Ezra Mutai recorded a 26:03.5 to beat teammate Benoit Campion by more than a minute.
  • AIC captured the team title for the first time since 2016 with 39 points.  Stonehill College (79) was second with Southern Connecticut State University (85) and Franklin Pierce University (89) also ahead of the Penmen (96).
  • The Penmen earned two Queen City Cup points with Saint Anselm College (294) finishing in ninth place.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
  • Southern New Hampshire will race next on November 9, when it heads to Philadelphia, Pa. for the 2019 NCAA Division II East Regional.
