Notes: - The Penmen turned back Georgian Court 4-2 in its NCAA East Region 1 opener yesterday afternoon.  Junior Maddy Barone (Halifax, Mass.) went the distance, allowing two runs (one earned).    She allowed only four hits, walking four and striking out eight.  Junior Jordan Wade (East Taunton, Mass.) homered in the second inning.  Her third of the season gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead.  A double by junior Erin Tyrrell (Milford, N.H.) drove in freshman Emily Carbonneau (Lowell, Mass.) for a 2-1 lead in the fourth.  Carbonneau's two-run single in the fifth put SNHU in frot 4-1.  Wade, Carbonneau and senior Erin Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) led the Penmen with two hits apiece.    This is the fourth meeting of the season between the rivals.  Saint Anselm has won the previous three contests, all closely contested.  Last season in a winners bracket game in the NCAA East Regional, the Hawks prevailed 3-1.

Notes: This Hawks gave up an early home run, but came back to beat Bridgeport 3-1 yesterday's NCAA East Region 1 opener.  In the circle, Morgan Perry improved to 23-5 with a complete-game three-hitter.  Maggie Murphy drove in all three runs for the Hawks with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third - and a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Saint Anselm, the region's top seed, has won 13 consecutive games.  Last Saturday, the Hawks edged Adelphi 4-3 in 10 innings to win the Northeast-10 Championship.

04/17/19 G1- Saint Anselm 2, #13 SNHU 1 - Sophomore Shay Sauvageau (Griswold, Conn.) had an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning, but the Penmen fell short.
04/17/19 G2- Saint Anselm 4, #13 SNHU 3 - The Penmen tied the game on an Emily Carbonneau homer in the sixth, but Maggie Murphy's walk-off single won for the Hawks.
04/23/19 - Saint Anselm 3, #13 SNHU 1 - Sophomore Emily Critch (Halifax, Mass.) homered in the first, but the Hawks rally with three in the top of the seventh to win.
