  • Hubickova Makes Run to Finals of ITA East Regional Championship Singles Bracket

    FLUSHING, N.Y. - Freshman Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic), in her first ever Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championship, went 5-0, including three tie-break victories, to roll into the main singles bracket finals, where she eventually fell in a closely-contested third set. On the doubles side, Hubickova teamed with sophomore Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) to win four matches, before bowing out in the semifinals.

    Freshman Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic) shined in her dual-match debut for the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team, as it officially opened the season with a 7-0 blanking of crosstown-rival Saint Anselm College on Tuesday afternoon at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.

    MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team had an 11-year streak snapped when it did not make the semifinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship last season. Despite graduating two-thirds of their lineup, the Penmen are in position to rebound thanks in part to a strong sophomore class and a handful of impact newcomers. SNHU gets its season underway Saturday, Sept. 7 when it travels to take on Le Moyne College, before heading home to kick off its Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts slate Tuesday, Sept. 17 (3 p.m.) against Saint Anselm College.
