Women's Tennis Bounces Back with 7-0 Blanking of Bentley

Freshman Mina Houge (Oslo, Norway) did not lose a game in either of her matches and was one of four Penmen that won, 6-0, 6-0, in singles play, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team rebounded from its first loss of the season with a convincing 7-0 defeat of Bentley University on Wednesday afternoon at the Brandeis University Tennis Courts.

  • Houge took down Anna Higgins, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles and was also a 6-0 winner over Higgins and Cindy Luo at No. 2 doubles with partner and classmate Selin Seyfettinoglu (Wiesbaden, Germany).
  • Sophomore Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico), freshman Isabella Andrade (Cochabama, Bolivia) and sophomore Elizabeth Dwyer (Cutchogue, N.Y.) all won their singles matches, 6-0, 6-0, at Nos. 3, 5 and 6, respectively. 
  • Southern New Hampshire dropped just two games in singles action and another two in doubles play.
  • Andrade and freshman Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic) remain undefeated at 4-0 in dual-match action, thus far.
  • The Penmen return to action Saturday, Sept. 28 (1 p.m.) when they play host to Franklin Pierce University at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.
