NEW ORLEANS – Senior Ashley Elder (Bristol, Conn.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's track & field team was selected as a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic performer, it was announced Monday.
Elder, who earns the honor for the second straight season, is a psychology major with a 3.73 GPA. She adds to her list of 2019 outdoor accolades that includes Google Cloud Academic All-District, Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference and USTFCCCA East All-Region, which she garnered for the discus throw, shot put and hammer throw. Elder, the program record holder in four events, including shot put, discus, hammer throw and weight throw, became the second SNHU athlete to compete in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, doing so in the shot put. Elder captured four discus titles this season, four shot put wins and three hammer victories for 11 total wins.
