Corcoran, Henson Lead Penmen at New England Championships

Sophomore Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and sophomore Grace Henson (Cumberland, Maine) led the SNHU Women's Cross Country team at Saturday's New England Championships.  The Penmen finished 14th in a competitive field.

  • One week after setting the program record for 6k, Corcoran ran the third fastest 5k, finishing 19th in 18:25.
  • Sophomore Grace Henson (Cumberland, R. I.) just missed a new PR, combing home 54th in 19:10.
  • Newcomer Lydia Mathson (Nashua, N.H.) ran a 19:54 while finishing 93rd of 154 runners.
  • UNH was the team champion (63) with a narrow victory over Dartmouth College (65).  The race was won by Shannon Murdock of the Wildcats in 17:37.
  • The Penmen will compete next at NE10 Championships on Sunday, October 27 at Jamesville Beach State Park, N.Y.
