NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Katrina Cook scored her fourth goal of
the season with just under five minutes remaining to lift Southern
Connecticut State University to a 1-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer
victory over Southern New Hampshire University Wednesday night at
Jess Dow Field. The Owls improve to 6-4-2 overall and 3-4-1
in NE-10 play, while the Penmen are now 5-8-1 overall and 3-6 in
the league.
After a scoreless first half, the
hosts would notch the game's only goal at the 85:03 mark.
Gina DellaRose sent a corner kick into the box that found the foot
of Cook who buried it for the gamewinner.
Katie Didio made a pair of saves
for Southern Connecticut en route to the shutout.
Stef Young (Natick, MA) made two saves for
Southern New Hampshire, while the Penmen also recorded a team save.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Saturday when it travels to Stonehill College for a 11:00 am
match.
