WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT
SAINT MICHAEL'S
BOX SCORE
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Stef Young (Natick,
MA) made one save en route to her sixth shutout of the season as
Southern New Hampshire University posted a 2-0 Northeast-10 women's
soccer victory over Saint Michael's College at Larkin Field Tuesday
night. The Penmen snapped a three-game slide as they improved
to 6-9-1 overall and 4-7 in the NE-10, while the Purple Knights are
now 7-6-2 and 3-6-2 in the league.
The first half was scoreless until
one minute to go when Alyssa Integlia (Johnston,
RI) would score her second goal of the season, an unassisted tally
to get the Penmen on the board. The hosts would strike again
in the 57th minute when Stephanie Jones
(Barnstable, MA) caused a turnover, collected the ball and fired it
home to make it 2-0. It marked Jones' first goal of the
season.
Young needed to make just one stop
for the shutout as SNHU outshot Saint Michael's 9-4, including a
6-0 advantage in the first half. Purple Knight netminder
Molly Cole (Dover, NH) made three saves for the
guests.
Southern New Hampshire is idle
until Tuesday, October 16, when it travels to Bentley College for a
3:30 contest.
