HOOKSETT, N.H. - Matt Farley (Halifax,
MA) totaled two goals and an assist to lead Southern New Hampshire
University to a 9-5 ECAC Northeast hockey victory over Framingham
State College Saturday night at The Ice Den. The Penmen, who got
goals from eight different players, remained unbeaten at 2-0-1
overall and in the league while the Rams are now 0-5-0 overall and
0-3-0 in ECAC play.

(Westminster, CO) handed out three assists for Southern New
Hampshire, who also got a goal and two assists from Brandon
Hammermeister (Calgary, ALB) and Troy
Maybury (South Portland, ME). Kent
Honeyman (Marietta, GA) had two assists for the Penmen,
who got at least one point from 14 different players. Jason Akstin
led Framingham State with a goal and two assists.
The nine goals were the most in a
game for SNHU since a 9-4 win over Franklin Pierce during the
2005-06 season.
The Penmen scored three times in
the final 4:32 of the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the
first intermission. Andrew Hildreth (Leominster,
MA) got SNHU on the board when he took a pass from Ryan
DiBartolomeo (Leominster, MA) at 15:28 for his first
collegiate goal. Freshman Ed Montgomery
(Colchester, VT) notched his first collegiate goal at the 18:33
mark when Andrew Goduco (Marlborough, MA) found
him with a pass from behind the goal. Farley also assisted on the
tally.
SNHU would make it 3-0 28 seconds
later when off a faceoff, Frey hit Hammermeister with a long pass
and Hammermeister scored on the breakaway when he made a move past
Framingham netminder Andy Joyce (Milford, MA).
FSC got on the board 5:26 into the
second period when Ryan Walsh (Tewksbury, MA) scored on assists
from Steve Butler (Dorchester, MA) and Joe Hurley (Charlestown,
MA). The Penmen regained a three-goal advantage just over a minute
later when Neil Adams (Gardner, MA) scored on
feeds from Frey and Hammermeister on a power play. The Rams would
cut the gap to 4-2 on a power play goal from Jeremy Schmidt
(Huffman, TX) at the 13:52 mark and made it 4-3 48 seconds later
when Nicholas Glum (Bellingham, MA) scored on a 4-on-4. Southern
New Hampshire made it 5-3 with 2:05 left in the second period when
Farley scored on assists from Adams and Kent
Honeyman (Marietta, GA).
SNHU made it 7-3 1:54 into the
third period on Bob Bryant's (Nashua, NH) first
collegiate goal and got two goals in the final 28 seconds, an
empty-netter from Thomas Ohlson (York, ME) at
19:32 and Maybury's first collegiate goal with six seconds to go.

(Billerica, MA) made 22 saves in goal for SNHU, which outshot
Framingham State 42-27. Joyce made eight saves in the first period
before being relieved by Jamie Babineau (Medway, MA), who stopped
25 shots over the final two periods. SNHU was 2-8 on the power play
while the Rams were 2-9 with the man advantage.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action next Saturday when it faces UMass Boston in the first round
of the PAL/Stovepipe Tournament at The Ice Den. Faceoff is slated
for 4:00. The tournament's first game features Plymouth State
University and Suffolk University at 1:00.
