Johansson registered a hat trick to lead No. 17 Franklin Pierce
University to a 3-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer win over Southern
New Hampshire University Wednesday afternoon at Sodexo Field.
The Ravens improved to 9-3-1 and 7-2-1 in NE-10 play, while the
Penmen are now 6-3-3 and 5-3-2 in the league.
Johansson got the Ravens on the
board just 6:42 into the game when she took a pass from Kelly
Weygand and went one-on-one with SNHU keeper Stef
Young (Natick, MA) and beat her low. Franklin Pierce
would up its lead to 2-0 2:16 into the second half when Johansson
scored off a feed from Ann Foley. Johansson completed the hat
trick when she converted a penalty kick at the 66:48 mark.
Brittany Ester and Jocelyn Leon
combined on the shutout for FPU and were not forced to make a save
as the Ravens outshot the Penmen 10-1. Young turned aside
three shots for Southern New Hampshire.
Southern New Hampshire returns home
on Saturday when it hosts No. 24 Merrimack in a 1:00 game at Larkin
Field.
