MANCHESTER, N.H. - Erin Klimkowski scored two goals to
lead Adelphi University to a 2-0 women's soccer victory over
Southern New Hampshire University on Friday afternoon at Larkin
Field. The Panthers improve to 13-3-1 overall on the season,
while the Penmen are 8-5-4 overall.
Klimkowski got Adelphi on the board
with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half.
Following a corner kick, she headed home a pass by Amanda Rodriguez
to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Elise Maniguet, who
delivered the initial corner kick, also registered an assist.
Klimkowski recorded her second goal, an unassisted tally, 6:03 into
the second half.
Dorothy Connolly recorded four
saves en route to the shutout for Adelphi. Stef
Young (Natick, MA) played the first 79:52 in goal for
Southern New Hampshire and turned aside five shots before giving
way to Casey Les(Palmer, MA), who was not forced
to make a save in her first 10:08 of collegiate action.
Adelphi held a 15-6 shot advantage on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action on Sunday when it enters the Northeast-10 Tournament as the
No. 5 seed. The Penmen travel to fourth-seeded Southern
Connecticut State University for a 1:00 contest.
