AUBURN, Mass. - Three players each totaled a goal and an
assist as Southern New Hampshire University posted a 4-2 ECAC
Northeast ice hockey victory over Worcester State College Saturday
night. The Penmen, who snapped a seven game winless streak,
evened their record at 9-9-1 overall and 6-7-1 in the league, while
the Lancers are now 2-18 and 2-10 in ECAC-NE play.

Hammermeister (Calgary, ALB), Troy
Maybury (South Portland, ME) and Ed
Montgomery (Colchester, VT) each had a goal and an assist
for SNHU.
SNHU jumped out to a 2-0 lead after
one period. Maybury got the Penmen on the board just 35
seconds into the game when he converted a feed from Bob
Bryant (Nashua, NH). Southern New Hampshire would
make it 2-0 at the 17:12 mark when Hammermeister scored.
Maybury and Corey Hamblett (Milton, VT) assisted
on the goal.
The guests maintained a 2-0 lead
until the 10:30 mark of the second period when John
Frey (Westminster, CO) scored on an SNHU power play to
make it 3-0. Hammermeister and Montgomery assisted on the
goal. The Lancers would get on the board 3:55 later on a
power play goal by William Knauber, but Montgomery reclaimed a
three goal lead for the Penmen with 2:05 before the second
intermission. Neil Adams (Gardner, MA) and
Thomas Ohlson (York, ME) assisted on Montgomery's
goal.
Lee Belisle scored the lone goal of
the third period for Worcester State at the 6:10 mark.
Shane Brooks
(Kennebunk, ME) made 41 saves en route to the win for Southern New
Hampshire as the Penmen generated a 47-43 shot advantage.
SNHU returns to action Tuesday
night when it travels to Saint Anselm College for a 7:00 contest.
