RINDGE,
N.H. - Visiting Southern New Hampshire University swept
its three doubles matches en route to an 8-1 Northeast-10 men's
tennis victory over Franklin Pierce University on Sunday. The
Penmen evened their record at 1-1 on the season (1-1 Northeast-10),
while it marked the season opener for the Ravens.
In doubles play, David
Spaggiari (Manizales, Colombia) and Luis
Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela) teamed up for a 8-6
winner at No. 1, while Colin Stone (Manchester,
NH) and Jeff Bunker (Salem, NH) were 8-4 winners
at No. 2. Andrew Barrett (Marion, MA) and
Derek Thompson (Saint Albans, VT) captured an 8-3
win at No. 3.
Spaggiari, Ramirez, Barrett, Bunker
and John Niland (Cheshire, CT) were all victorious
in singles play.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Saturday when it travels to Merrimack College for a 10:00 am
match.
