GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - Adelphi University's Karen
Roveto scored with 26 seconds remaining in regulation to give the
Panthers a 1-0 Northeast-10 women's soccer victory over Southern
New Hampshire University at Competition Field Saturday
evening. The Panthers are now 8-4 and 6-4 in the NE-10, while
the Penmen are 3-9-3 and 1-7-3 in the league.
Roveto scored when she fired a shot from the top of the box that
found the back of the net. It marked Roveto's second goal of
the season.
Adelphi keeper Dorothy Connolly made four saves en route to the
shutout, while SNHU goalie Stef Young (Natick,
Mass.) turned aside eight shots as the Panthers outshot the Penmen
15-8.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday when it
travels to Saint Anselm College for a 4:00 game.
