MANCHESTER, N.H. -
A goal by Gianna D'Errico with 1:42 remaining in regulation lifted
second-ranked Saint Rose to a 1-0 victory over Southern New
Hampshire University in Northeast-10 women's soccer Saturday
afternoon at Larkin Field. The Golden Knights remained
unbeaten at 15-0 overall and 12-0 in the Northeast-10, while the
Penmen are now 3-11-3 and 1-9-3 in the league.
D'Errico's goal came following a
corner kick. The ball following the right-to-left blast
bounced around between several SNHU and Saint Rose players before
Amanda Deck collected it at the top of the box. She lifted a
ball towards the goal that D'Errico would head home for the
game-winner.
Saint Rose outshot SNHU 19-2 on the
afternoon and attempted 17 corner kicks. Susan Cowan was not
forced to make a save for the shutout for the Golden Knights, while
Penmen keeper Stef Young (Natick, Mass.) turned
aside nine shots.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Tuesday when it travels to Bentley University for a 3:30
contest.
